It has long been known that reading can broaden one’s horizons. And since books and films have had a fascinating and dynamic relationship for more than a century, we just could not run the 14th T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival in Wrocław without books playing a role.
The Book Institute, Polish Radio’s Third Program, and the New Horizons Association have prepared a Festival Library for all film lovers. This year, for the first time ever, festival-goers will be able to spend their waiting time between screenings by reading books borrowed from our library.
The library is exceptional and is open to all festival-goers. Those visitors who find reading as natural as breathing or watching films will have access to the Festival library at the New Horizons Cinema from July 25 through August 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. And we will try to convince those who have been avoiding reading up until now to change their habits.
Thanks to the publishers that provided support for our project and who helped us populate our bookshelves, there will be a very big selection, from new releases to classics, as well as something for film lovers, fans of fantasy and history, biographies, documentary reports, detective stories, and good novels. There will also be books for kids and teens.
The Festival will also welcome a number of special guests.
