Filmmaker Q&As

Our discussion series with New Horizons continues at 6:30 PM at KNH 2 with Philip Gröning, director of the excellent Into Great Silence and
The Policeman’s Wife
(Special Jury Prize at Venice International Film Festival). This will be the only Q&A with the director. The program also includes two films by Jacques Doillon, one of the most interesting French filmmakers. You can still catch one of the films – Family Life, a moving story about a father trying to patch up his relationship with his 10-year-old daughter from his first marriage. The film screens today at 10 PM in KNH 2 and on July 31 at 3:45 PM in the same theater. A Q&A with the director will follow both screenings. The final screening of Kumiko, winner of the Special Jury Prize at Sundance will take place today at 4:15 PM (KNH 7), followed immediately by a Q&A with American director David Zellner.

On August 2 at 1 PM at Gazeta Cafe (hotel Puro courtyard), journalist Paweł T. Felis will host Anka and Wilhelm Sasnal (their film, Parasite, is in the main competition) and Grzegorz Jarzyna, acclaimed theater director, member of TR Warsaw, who is presenting the pre-premiere of the screen adaptation of Dorota Masłowska’s Everthing is Fine Between Us. Screenings and filmmaker Q&A’s will be held on August 1 at 7:15 PM (KNH 8) and August 2 at 4:15 PM (KNH 7). Parasite screens on Wednesday July 30 at 7:15 PM (KNH 9) and Thursday July 31 at 10:15 AM (KNH 9).
